Preheat a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Cut the bacon into one inch pieces and add to pan.
Cook bacon, flipping occasionally until firm but not crisp.
While bacon is cooking, cut sweet potato and pear into 1 inch chunks.
Add to sweet potato and pear to pan with bacon and stir to combine. Add a pinch of salt.
Cook until potatoes start to brown and pears carmelize (about 10 minutes).
Tear kale into small pieces and add to pan along with cinnamon, chili powder, another pinch of salt, and maple syrup. Stir to combine.
Cook until kale turns bright green and wilts.
Remove from heat and taste for salt and pepper.
