Okay okay, I know I’m the one that is always rolling my eyes at the suggestion of a hot bath to fill my self-care needs, but honestly sometimes it is exactly what you need to chill the f*ck out. This DIY calming bath soak boosts the benefits of that warm water soak sesh with calming lavender and chamomile, muscle relaxing magnesium, and skin softening coconut oil.
Set the mood for the ultimate calm by dimming the lights, lighting your favorite non-toxic candle, and putting on a chill playlist or good audible book. Lock the door (this is YOUR TIME!) and soak for at LEAST 15 minutes. Give your sore muscles a little TLC with this soothing bath soak. Made with magnesium rich epsom salt, calming chamomile, and pain-relieving eucalyptus, this calming bath soak is especially helpful for those long days when pregnancy and parenting feels like less of gift.
Soaking in warm water and epsom salt, which contains magnesium sulfate, relaxes tense and sore muscles and promotes healing. Truth be told: lavender is the star in this soak. Lavender promotes restful sleep, reduces anxiety, and soothes irritated skin (and moods). (1)
Add 1/2 cup of this sore muscle bath soak to running warm bath water, then stir to dissolve the salts. Be careful getting in and out of the tub! Epsom salts and coconut oil make the tub very slippery.
