I'm a chocolate-loving nutritionist, pre & postnatal coach, doula and let's face it- total birth nerd 🤓. I'm here to help you cut through mommy-marketing and pinterest perfection to confidently cultivate a pregnancy and postpartum experience you totally love.
I am relatively new to the sardine scene. I remember during my NTP program, fellow nutrition nerds would pop open these little fish filled cans for lunch each day, and they’d eat them straight from the can. THE HORROR. Not really, but I was just so taken aback by it. If it had been tuna, I probably wouldn’t have batted an eye, right? I finally gave these fishy dudes a chance and I’m so pleased I did.
This avocado sardine salad is a favorite of mine, and my toddler. She loves to help me make it, but will also devour it before we get to the table if I turn my back for two seconds.
Quick tips for buying sardines:
Opt for:
Wild and sustainably caught!
Packed in water or extra virgin olive oil
Bone-in adds extra nutrients (and doesn’t require any extra preparation).
