Welcome to my messy, joyful, and perfectly imperfect version of motherhood. I’m a nutritional therapy practitioner and certified pre & postnatal coach. I’m here to help you move through motherhood with ease!
There’s a lot happening during the holiday season, even in a normal year. Add in the craziness of this year, and wow… I think we’re all feeling the effects.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed, overstimulated, and run ourselves into the ground. Our emotions can be all over the place. If you find yourself on the brink of losing it, H.A.L.T… and ask yourself…
H – Am I Hungry?
Have you eaten lately? Or had any water? The water in your coffee doesn’t count, nor do the chocolate truffles count as a meal… Stop the hangry monster in its tracks and eat a meal or balanced snack (yes chocolate can be part of that snack, just add some almond butter to it).
A – Am I Angry?
Or perhaps you’re frustrated, annoyed, grief-stricken, or overwhelmed! There are a lot of BIG feelings happening, especially this time of the year. Give yourself space to process them.
L – Am I Lonely?
For many of us, being disconnected from family, friends, co-workers and community is taking its toll. Be sure to find a socially-distant, safe way to connect with loved ones this season. This isn’t forever, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t hard.
T – Am I Tired?
You know when your four-year-old is throwing tantrums at the drop of a hat and you know it’s simply because they are totally exhausted and need a nap? Guess what friend, same logic applies here. Sleep is one of the best ways to mitigate stress and practice self-care.
Basically treat yourself like you would your four-year old having a meltdown… Perhaps you need a snack, a nap, and room to process your emotions.
If you want simple ways to approach each of these strategies, I’ve got you covered. Check out my Stress Less Holiday Guide for actionable ways to make H.A.L.T. happen. I’ve got recipes, grounding exercises, ways to safely cultivate community and sleep hacks to navigate any stressful season.
